Upper Yosemite Falls Lupine

Yosemite National Park will always hold a special place in my heart. The first time I ever visited the park I was blown away by it’s breathtaking beauty. The large granite rock formations carved out of glaciers is an amazing sight. It’s incredible to me to see how people climb some of these cliffs. This picture was taken along the Upper Yosemite Falls trail. For those that have never hiked Yosemite Falls, I highly recommend it. The strenuous switchback trails take you up along the tallest waterfall in North American and the fifth tallest in the world.

I shot these wildflowers during spring. The purple comes out so vivid against the green leaves. These flowers are known as Brewer’s Lupine and common to the higher elevations within the park and throughout other areas of California.
