Tunnel View Yosemite
$10.00 – $100.00
The first time I ever visited Yosemite National Park this is the view I was greeted with. My breath was taken away as I looked through Yosemite Valley at Half Dome, El Capian, and granite cliffs thousands of feet tall. Since my first visit, Yosemite National Park will always hold a special place in my heart. This particular view is from Tunnel View – the first real glimpse of Yosemite Valley from the southern entrance of the park. From this area you’ll come across visitors from all parts of the world taking in the view. Tunnel View is a great spot because of some of the parks most famous landmarks: El Capitan, Half Dome ,and Bridalviel Fall. Resting behind Half Dome in the background the popular trail, Cloud’s Rest is also visible.
I shot this photo on my second visit to Yosemite during mid-May. Spring is one of the best times to visit the park if you’re looking to catch Yosemite’s waterfalls at their peak. Snowmelt isn’t absorbed into the granite rock and forms streams that cascade off the cliffs into waterfalls such as the one in the picture. What I love in this picture is the contrast in blue to green against the white puffy clouds of a mild spring day.
